Golfer course gamer or golfswing video gamer?
I think one thing that's very important for any golfer that's training in whatever is the fact that they keep a legit score Everytime. Swing positions, still images, video sequences ect are good for conversations but what's the number relative to where you've been and your current talent level. I believe the secret is a well rounded game with a score attached to it at the end that's trending to something and somewhere the player has never been before. Hit all the lines you want on video but just make sure you understand that the score box trumps everything. I see golf much like mixed martial arts it's a blend of do many types of training areas not just one along with if all you do is hit a punching bag all day or train shadow boxing and never actually spar or fight you will be enlightened with misery the first time you do with someone who is a gamer. Bruce Lee said one time I'll take a raw street fighter that has many fights under his belt over just about any black belt of any discipline. You wanna be a gamer put your money on yourself and tee it up in real competition and reflect adjust and evolve as that's the true recipe to success and it should be a continuous cycle. I've never seen a pga tour event tournament won on how a swing looks by pics images or video style points as its not based on judging like "Diving ect" Only by score and a complete packaged game that works for the player as a whole to create the lowest winning score.

2015 Arnold Palmer Invitational Results Winner: Matt Every
Matt Every wins back to back in 2014 and 2015.
Matt struck the ball all week like a champion and he really feels comfortable on this golf course. It shows us just how hard it really is to win on the PGA Tour as Henrick looked like he had this one...
Congrats!!! to Matt Every

2015 Valspar Championship Results (Winner: Jordan Speith)
Jordan putted his way on the final round to make the playoff, but more importantly he putted his way to victory...
His ball striking was very good as well, but it left him many times throughout the week and when it did his short game was there to manage the damage.
I've met Jordan a couple of times as he played with a student of mine that was a former PGA Tour Winner and now is a member of the Champions Tour and I can say that Jordan is as nice and cool as advertised. He is easy to root for and he's one of the great new leaders of the game.
What do I like best about Jordan's swing?
He has great posture every week which is hard to have through fatigue both mentally and physically. The main thing about his actual swing though is that his body and club seem to always be in sync.
The one thing that hurts his swing sometimes is that he sometimes will pull up and out through the shot which causes his lead arm to break out away from his body which can cause a push and pull.
Putting:
The thing about his putting that makes him so great is that he hits his putts more solid than any other player on the Tour IMO. His stroke puts a tremendous amount of pressure into the ball with very little effort. His forward roll of the ball seems to be much faster than the rest of the players.
Pitching:
Jordan uses a good blend of arms and wrists in his pitching. He hits these shots so solid as well and is IMO very underrated with his incredible wedge play around the greens and also distance wedges
Jordan lacks some of the big power that the elite long hitters have, but he still has good power and has a great all around game and he gets better in a tournament when the time is right

2015 Valspar Championship Weekend Predictions
My Predictions Over The Weekend:
Front Runners: Jordan Speith and Henrik Stenson
Mid Pack: Ian Poulter and Kevin Streelman
Long Shots: Lee Westwood and Luke Donald
We shall soon see I love this course and it may get very tough over the weekend if the wind picks up... Ball control and 4-10 ft putting will be the most important factors to winning this weekend. Also watch for the snake holes 16, 17 and 18 as many things can and will change when players arrive there

Power Vs Accuracy On The PGA Tour
Fans of the PGA Tour are learning that Power wins on the PGA Tour over accuracy on a week to week basis. The reason is the Power hitters can do everything that an accuracy player can do, but the accuracy player can't do all the things a Power player can do...
Don' t think that a Dustin Johnson, JB Holmes and Bubba Watson ect are not accurate first and foremost. These guys are deadly accurate and repeatable, but they understand that Power has a big accuracy component attached to it and that is a shorter club into the green on every hole on the course. This means they have a 72 hole advantage over the short hitters of the game.
These players have ball speeds up and over 177 mph and their misses relative to their speeds is what makes them so dangerous. The stats don't tell the whole truth about power hitters as it will show they only hit 55% of the fairways in general. This is a stat that misleads the amateur golfer the reason being is that they are carrying the ball 310 yards plus and when they miss the fairways it's usually by a very small amount. If this player wants to hit a higher percentage all they would have to do is hit a driving iron or fairway wood and they would lead the accuracy stats.
I could go on and on about why Power beats Accuracy, but I don't need to just watch the PGA Tour every week and see for yourself. Power that has big misses is not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the elite of the elite which are the guys who bomb the ball and really control their ball.
The best ball strikers on tour not relative to stats are IMO:
1. Dustin Johnson
2. Rory Mcilroy
3. JB Holmes
4. Bubba Watson
5. Daniel Berger

2015 World Golf Championship At Doral (Results) elitegolfperformance.net
Winner: Dustin Johnson
Runner-up JB Holmes
3rd place Bubba Watson
I believe DJ has the best ball flight on the PGA Tour right now. He has the four essentials of ball flight down to an art
1. Compression
2. Initial Start Line
3. Trajectory
4. Ball Control/Rotation
If DJ starts putting better he will be a top 3 player in the world very soon. He won this tournament with poor putting so I think this shows just how good he really is from tee to green. The shot of the year IMO is him taking on the water at the Blue Monster and flying it over the water and leaving himself a simple short iron left into the green on 18 to win the golf tournament.
All three of these players use a move that is really kinda of our secret sauce at elitegolfperformance.net
Watch the video below to see what that secret is and I believe you will see it in all 3 of these great ball strikers

2015 World Golf Champonship At Doral Weekend Predictions
My Picks:
Front runner: JB Holmes
Mid pack: Adam Scott
Long shot: Dustin Johnson
We shall see as the 10 under by JB was one of the best rounds of Golf of all time... That does not get him the win, but it could be a career changer for an already good player on the PGA Tour.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out over the weekend at Doral.

2015 World Golf Championships At Doral Early Predictions elitegolfperformance.net
Here's my early picks for the week
Rory Mcilroy- This week will be different than last I believe. If the winds blow he typically does not play his best. If you watch Rory against the best he seems to just hit it closer every hole than the best along with just barely edging them out in all aspects, when he's on. The tour can't keep up if Rory is on
Jason Day- Trending and well balanced throughout the bag. Jason may be most under rated inhis short game, he's great tee to green, but he has a steve stricker type of short iron technique and this makes him a dual threat with power and touch...
Patrick Reed- Trending and will be playing with a lot of fire after last week. I believe he needs to apply a go to cut shot. His ball flight reminds me of Tom Lehman's push draw every shot. Regardless, he is tough wherever he plays
Bubba Watson- Bubba is a true threat anywhere because I believe he may be the best driver on the tour. The man can over power about any track through distance and accuracy
Ricky Fowler- Played well last year and I believe he will start easing back into events. Ricky is a tough player that is well rounded and is a great/elite putter day in and day out. This is a great track for him to be around the top
Adam Scott- Has not played in 2015, but I believe he will play well with his record at Doral. To me Adam is the 3rd best driver on tour behind Bubba and Rory.
Ryan Moore- Trending and has all the ability to win at Doral. Ryan has this game that is so well rounded IMO. He has power accuracy repeatability and a great short game and mental game. He has not played up to his potential, but he will and it will surprise many when that happens
Dustin Johnson- Putting will be the only issue, if he's putting well he will be Top 5
Doral will be playing very tough, but I believe the Honda will play tougher than Doral will play, pending the wind. We shall soon see

2015 Honda Classic Results (Padraig Harrington) elitegolfperfomance.net
Padraig Harrington did what veterans do, win by mental toughness and skill
Padraig took it on the chin yesterday and probably would no have won if the tournament finished yesterday, but it didn't. He came out today and took advantage of being able to recover mentally and went on to play a great round of golf and close out a very tough week.
Congrats to Padraig Harrington for showing us that mental toughness and the ability to "let go" is still alive and well

2015 Honda Classic Weekend Predictions Early Predictions "JUNK"
Rory Mcilroy- he typically goes crazy low on Thursday and struggles on Fridays and as we know steadies the ship to usually win big events
Dustin Johnson- Most physically talented player in the game and is trending to win and I believe he's playing with a focus now more so than ever before.
Justin Rose- Always has a good chance to win if the winning score does not get past double digits. Great day in day out ball striker and player. Putting will tell the truth about his play this week IMO
Martin Kaymer- Trending every week of high level play. Has the go to fade every shot and has that championship short game to go with it.
Sang Moon Bae- Great swing and player that is trending as well. This is a ball strikers course and this man is just that and a lot more. Experience may determine play, but if not I believe he will be right there
Russell Henley- Main reason is because I believe in patterns and he's the defending champ and this confidence will return as soon as he arrives to tee it up Thursday. Last year opening day he shot 64, who knows he's a great putter and streaky player which proves on the PGA Tour to be a great combo
Early Predictions:
Rory- MC
DJ-MC
JR-MC
MK-Made cut barely
RH- Made cut barely
My predictions were junk this week and I would be the first to say so however, I've picked the winner every week this year except last week.
Weekend Predictions
Front Runner: Patrick Reed- He's striping it and played on Thursday and Friday in by far the worst conditions than the other leaders
Mid Runner: Luke Donald- Steadily picking away and it's really hard for this man to make bogey, only if his driver leaves him will he struggle
Long shot: Paul Casey- This man used to be one of the best week in and week out and he's trending towards that again. Look for him to move into position on the last 9 holes of this tournament
This week was truthfully a luck of the draw, the reason I say this is that if you got trapped by the weather on your tee time it was almost impossible to play well, not impossible though, ala PR
It's been a very hard tournament to watch as a fan because the delays have made it boring and as a fan you can get the momentum of watching players make runs in either direction.
Regardless, it's Golf and it always has been and always will be my favorite sport to watch on TV...

Top 5 Golf Fitness Exercises On The PGA Tour elitegolfperformance.net
Just like the golf swing there are many philosophies and ways to make it work for the athlete.
However, some exercises are more popular than others. The classic isometric lifts are long gone and the reason why in the past so many Tour players steered away from iso lifting were it lead to tight ans tuck together muscles that lead to poor performance on the course.
The reason so many players train now is not really that it makes the feel better, but #1 is because they play on the course better. If you are training properly the golfer will feel it working in their swing naturally within two weeks. Which in turn leads to more confidence and the desire to do more and more to build the machine.
DO and or add these 5 exercises three times per week for. Do the amount of reps and the time that's best suited for your fitness level. Every golfer should be using these exercises below
Stay away from heavy lifts, look for functional training in your area and go try the gym. There are so many great gyms now that can really help golfers improve on and off the course. Just make sure they are teaching functional training for athletes and you will be in good shape.

Rory Mcilroys Secret To The Golf Swing
Rory Mcilroys secret is exactly the same as all the other top level PGA Tour ballstriking masters and that is he found a swing that worked for him, but also that created the desired ball flight and repeatability that he visioned. Now I know that answer is not sexy and is something that many people don't want to hear, but one thing it is for certain is it is the truth. The man has extreme talent and his parents choose to surround him with influences and a team that would build this talent and direct his focus into the right direction
To think that Rory Mcilroy has 1 secret that makes him this elite champion in Golf to me is borderline insanity. This man has so many tools that effect his performance on a day to day basis such as mental training, fitness, diet swing, short game, putting, strategy ect... It's a combination of so many performance enhancing tools that makes up these Top level players. So you will never hear me say it's a golf swing secret that makes Rory dominate and hit the ball great, because it's simply not the truth
If you're a player that's working hard and not getting better at golf it's probably that you have bought into this underground world of golf instruction of theories, ideas, technology, training aides, angles, pressures swing plane ect and this is the sure fire way to either limit any positive progression or causing a breakdown of a talented or high level player. All this underground stuff is just simply mumbo jumbo junk that does not work, but it for some reason is very sexy to golfers especially the thinking golfer and man that is a really bad combination.
Just remember this think like an athlete or like a warrior which is your job is to get better everyday in all the aspects that produces results and helps you achieve the small little goals on a daily basis. You don't have to know the hows and whys of everything, all you have to do is compete, reflect, adjust and find your secret that makes you a great well rounded player.
Mind- Think for goals, grit, strategy and scoring
Body-Play and swing as an athlete without thinking "Play Big"
Spiritual- Believe in yourself under any and all stressful or doubtful situations. Believe you are destined to do it
Emotionally- Contain or rid yourself of the great or ugly stuff and understand how to feed yourself what you need to get the job done
Intuition- Believe in your first instincts on the course where there is possible doubt and also the toughest is being able to change negative intuition on the course, that's when your a master of you are mind...

Here's a simple way to start your golf swing... elitegolfperformance.net
This is a great image to start the swing for ANYBODY.
As most people know I'm not a backswing teacher I'm the Downswing And
Timing Teacher, but this a great way to swing the club away. This in
general should be a smooth full Body movement of both the lead and rear
sides and the wrists should not be active in any way, just neutral and
soft as the club swings away
This is about the most you we ever see me talk about the backswing, why? Because there's a million ways from Sunday to make a backswing and recover and be a master ball striker. Even this illustration really is the same, but I do believe it's a great image after you've developed Timing
This as we all know we not make you a ball striking master, however if you have good timing in general this is a great move to add into the swing. Timing is king and to learn more about timing go to elitegolfperformance.net

James Hahn Wins The 2015 Northern Trust Open elitegolfperformance.net
It was a day of that challenged all the players mental grit and physical talents, today was a day that you had to have both. I predicted to start the week that Dustin Johnson would win this week and he was so close to making that happen, but James Hahn took him down with 20-25ft putt in the playoff.
The leaderboard was all over the place throughout the day with every leader having problems closing the deal due to conditions in general.
Here is a list of players to pay attention to in the upcoming weeks IMO
Rory Mcilroy
Jason Day
Dustin Johnson
Bubba Watson
JB Holmes
Ryan Moore
Jim Furyk

2015 Northern Trust Open Sunday Predictions elitegolfperformance.net
I said yesterday that I believed Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Jordan Speith would make a move over the weekend and I also said I don't think the score will get to 11 under or lower...
DJ is now in a tie for 7th going into Sunday
Bubba is now in a tie for 7th going into Sunday
Jordan is now in in a tie for 7th going into Sunday
These players are currently four under and the leader is at 8 under par.
I still believe the winning score will not get past 11 under. The leaders will be trying to keep it between the lines to hold on to their leads, this leaves a great opportunity for the players sitting currently at 2 under to have a chance to make a run today and if they can go low say 6 or 7 under there's a possibility of winning this Tourny.
My front runner pick GD
My mid range pick is DJ
My long shot is Ryan Moore
It will make for interesting TV today with the way the course is set up and along with how the players are stacked up. The leaders probably won't runaway and some players from the back will make runs at certain points in the round to make it really fun to watch...

Northern Trust Open 2015 Predictions elitegolfperformance.net
I look for Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Jordan Speith to work their way up the leaderboard over the weekend. This golf course always plays like a US Open setting putting a major emphasis on ball striking, shot making and patience. Regardless to his is actually making a run to win this title I will say who ever does it will be setting themselves up for a tremendous amount of confidence for the entire year of 2015
The greens are elevated and have on many holes 4 point runoffs which make chipping and pitching very difficult in general. Missing greens will happen with the leaders, but where you miss and how big your misses are will be very important. The greens will become bumpy and quick over the weekend making for confusion, frustration and an emotional rollercoaster/exhaustion with all the players
I don't believe the leaders will get to 11 or 12 under par this week, but my opinion really does not matter that much because these are the best players in the world and if they get hot they can do amazing things which in turn could lead to a low score of double digits, I personally just don't see it though. I believe the winning score will be 9 under or 10 under at the most pending on how tough they set the course up for this weekend.
I would have to have liked to seen Jason Day play this week because he has a game that would I believe put him in great position to win his second title of the year. I do understand players schedules are made well before the year starts nowadays, but I bet he wishes he was playing this week with his confidence and game in general with the leaders after two days only at 6 under par. All speculation, but I'm kinda curious if that's what he wold be thinking too or if he's content waiting until next weeks event.
I hope you enjoy the the golf tournament and we will see how this all plays out as the GRIND BEGINS

Top 5 Mistakes Most Golfers Makes In Preparation
Most golfers with the mindset of truly wanting to get better fall into these traps that have proven over the last 40 plus years to completely limit a golfers success. These golfers have the right outlook, but really miss the boat on developing their games properly
#1 They become what we call RANGE RATS this is where the golfer goes and hits 100's or 1000's of balls a day on the driving range trying to grind it out and figure it all out... These golfer absolutely are hard workers and they believe that through hard work the miracle will happen, WRONG...
#2 The golfers read every magazine, book or youtube video of the latest and greatest way to play your best Golf.
#3 The golfers study and try to become a swing plane master and make their swings look so called perfect on video. This leads to confusion and lack of success.
#4 The golfers Don't set specific goals relative to what they are trying to achieve overall. Most set swing goals ect. The pros set scoring goals and competition goals...
#5 The golfers don't play golf anymore they play golf swing. The history of the game shows when golfers play golf swing that the player will fail it will impair their ability to improve and usually ends up in frustration.

Top 5 Things PGA Tour Players Do In Their Golf Swings elitegolfperformance.net
Well if you know anything about me or elitegolfperformance.net you will know that we teach downswing and downswing only...
Ask yourself what hits the ball backswing or downswing?
Logic wins, downswing.
#1 They know they are going to attack the ball with their body and more importantly their hands as soon as they move into transition. It's an attacking feeling and all Tour players do it whether they know it or not.
#2 They always squash the ball and they understand it's importance of applying pressure against the ball with their hands and body
#3 They find the slot in their downswing, that makes their swings work. The slot is a pretty grey area overall from Sergio to Mickleson is a wide range as far as downswing plane is concerned. The players will find what works best for them and you should as well. The history of the best ball strikers will show and more black and white downswing plane, but overall it's a grey area especially for amateurs.
