I look for Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Jordan Speith to work their way up the leaderboard over the weekend. This golf course always plays like a US Open setting putting a major emphasis on ball striking, shot making and patience. Regardless to his is actually making a run to win this title I will say who ever does it will be setting themselves up for a tremendous amount of confidence for the entire year of 2015
The greens are elevated and have on many holes 4 point runoffs which make chipping and pitching very difficult in general. Missing greens will happen with the leaders, but where you miss and how big your misses are will be very important. The greens will become bumpy and quick over the weekend making for confusion, frustration and an emotional rollercoaster/exhaustion with all the players
I don't believe the leaders will get to 11 or 12 under par this week, but my opinion really does not matter that much because these are the best players in the world and if they get hot they can do amazing things which in turn could lead to a low score of double digits, I personally just don't see it though. I believe the winning score will be 9 under or 10 under at the most pending on how tough they set the course up for this weekend.
I would have to have liked to seen Jason Day play this week because he has a game that would I believe put him in great position to win his second title of the year. I do understand players schedules are made well before the year starts nowadays, but I bet he wishes he was playing this week with his confidence and game in general with the leaders after two days only at 6 under par. All speculation, but I'm kinda curious if that's what he wold be thinking too or if he's content waiting until next weeks event.
I hope you enjoy the the golf tournament and we will see how this all plays out as the GRIND BEGINS
